Jackie Smith for State Assembly

CA Public Bank Alliance
Our second speaker for June's general membership meeting is Trinity Tran from CA Public Banking Alliance and Revolution LA. She is the co-founder and lead organizer for Revolution LA, Public Bank LA and Divest LA.
WE ARE NOW USING ELECTRONIC VOTING
We recently approved a Special Rule for if we ever need to endorse a Slate of candidates.
We also approved a Bylaw Amendment gives the Executive Board the authority to provide, as necessary, a mechanism for electronic voting between meetings - such as during a pandemic, when we cannot meet in-person.
The Bylaws are always available in the link in the header of our always-up-to-date Agenda, at this link: bit.ly/wpds-agenda
For the duration of the pandemic, simpler votes shall use Google Forms, and more complex votes shall use eBallot.
Membership dues and attendance requirements remain in place.
If you want to vote, you MUST be current on your dues BEFORE casting a vote, and you MUST have attended AT LEAST ONE MEETING in the last 12 months.
Each vote will be entirely done in one format.
On any voting item, everyone will be voting using the same method, to keep things fair and straightforward.
In a democracy, decisions are made by those who show up.
We are committed to making it as easy as possible for people to show up and participate.
We hope you join us in the future (even if it's virtual!).
