December General Membership Meeting and Board Elections

Our Guest speaker will be Assemblymember Kevin McCarty for Assembly District 7. He has been re-elected with an resounding 74% of the vote and will be giving us an update on the work that lies ahead.
We will also be having our 2021 Wellstone Board Elections. Our work continues as well, and we encourage everyone to get involved. If you want to make a difference, please consider getting involved!

Currently we have several open seats on the board that need to be filled and you're welcome to run for these positions:
Recording Secretary
Political Chair
Legislative Chair
and
Finance & Fundraising Chair
At the present time, we have one person running for each of these positions:
President
Vice President
Corresponding Secretary
Treasurer
and
Organizational Development
You're welcome to run for these positions as well.
Our Board is a very collaborative Board, and we work together to serve our members and our community. The duties for the positions are in our bylaws, but they are summarized here below: We will work together to ensure that everyone who wants to serve in a position be supported during the transition period and throughout the year.
President:
Run membership meetings and Board meetings,
schedule guest speakers, help Board to set goals
for the year. Be the official spokesperson for the club.
Vice President:
Maintain membership roster, monitor Act blue to
track dues and membership roster, assist President
and Communications Chair as needed, run membership
meetings in President's absence. Reserve meeting rooms.
Recording Secretary:
Records all that was said during membership
meetings and board meetings. Including motions
Corresponding Secretary:
Manage the WPDS website, social media platforms,
announcements, and other correspondence for the club.
Treasurer:
Maintain the club bank account, keep track of
incoming funds and expenses, keep track of
campaign finance reporting, help Finance Chair
with fundraising events, write checks
Political Affairs:
Form liaisons with elected officials, candidates
and other progressive organizations regarding
campaign matters and club endorsements.
Legislative Affairs:
The legislative director shall monitor all legislative
activity on the local, state, and federal level that
might be of interest to the club and form liaisons with officials regarding those legislative bills.
Finance And Fundraising Chair:
Plans fundraising events for the club
